I am the light of the world

Pretty friggin arrogant, right? The title of this post? At first glance, it seems to be. The title seems to imply that I’m very special compared to the average person, the average person being a “sinner” according to millions of Christians. We’ve been taught since we were born (and really since the beginning of time) that we are flawed, horrible, and wrong. Just look at all the judgmental attack thoughts that course through all our minds, all of us with an ego, all of us. And of course those attack thoughts lead to all kinds of unloving words and actions. The point is simple and obvious. We are all sinners, and there is nearly an infinite amount of proof in the world to back this concept up.

Then Jesus came along one day and said, “I am the light of the world.” To make a long slog of a story short, Christianity chose to teach that he alone is the light of the world, while all the rest of us remain guilty bastards and bastardettes–sinners. And this narrative has continued all the way until today.

If you read my Rob’s Story page, then you would know that I mentioned Jesus visited me in a dream one night in 2003 and essentially gave me a message, a message without thoughts or words. What I didn’t mention is that He gave me an experience of revelation, or a direct experience of God. In other words I went to Heaven. For real. Perhaps in another post I will dive deeper into that experience, but for now I will stick with the main message given me by Jesus and God in my experience of revelation. This message cannot be repeated too often. It needs to be said and heard over and over again a thousand times a thousand times a thousand times, over and over again until we all get it. This message has already been delivered a thousand times a thousand times in A Course in Miracles and other authentic spiritual teachings. And it is the message I believe He, Jesus, has asked me to share again, here on this blog, in any book I write, and anywhere else. It is a message that I expect many have heard, but VERY few have accepted as true. It is a work in progress, and the work will be done in time. The message is this:

“I am the light of the world.”

That’s right. I’m talking about myself, my true Self, the Spirit that is in me, that is me. And I am talking about you, too. You are the light of the world. We all are. When Jesus taught that He was the Son of God and the light of the world, he was teaching also that we all are, we all are like Him. In fact, we are perfect equals to Him. We are holy. Even the bible backs this up when at one point Jesus tells his followers “These things I do, others will do, and they will do even greater works…” (that is a paraphrase). Everyone is the light of the world! The light of the world is humanity’s shared Identity.

Sure, our bodies/personalities/egos are not the light of the world. But we are not our bodies! We are Spirit having an experience, or dream, of being bodies. This was Jesus’ message two thousand years ago, it is the same message He gave me in my experience of revelation, and it is the same message He has shared in A Course in Miracles. In short, He’s back!

In Heaven, I had a breathtaking moment when I understood all of us were There, no on is left out of Heaven in the end. (and the experience was unspeakably profound btw and I can’t really put it into words). God has backed this up, because we are all a part of God.

Christianity buried the lead two thousand years ago. The powers that be (our brothers who were/are still identified with the ego), were not okay with people learning of their divine nature. So they buried Jesus’ original teachings. I would bet everything I own that this information is known and buried in the Vatican archives. Instead they have pushed the teaching of “Original Sin” down our throats and we have been choking on it ever since (although many were doing it with well meaning hearts). The powers that be first and foremost don’t want to lose their power. And so they absolutely cannot have an enlightened population running around the world–God forbid there be actual joy in the world. They know they would lose their power.

The good news is that there is nothing that we need do. Just choose to learn the message that You are the light of the world, and not a sinner. Learning our true nature, learning of our eternal spiritual Self is all we need do. Learning and accepting that we are the light of the world is all we need do. Everything else–all our worries and I am aware that there are many today, will take care of themselves.
